The Lust List: Bali Villa Dreaming

So today I wanted to write about something that I spend a lot of time dreaming about, researching and generally lusting for: Bali villa holidays. Ever since Bali came onto my radar I heard fairytale stories about the beaches, people and all importantly the villas – and as a pro-procrastinator I spent many hours in the library researching these magical villas instead of studying.

Marking the first post in my Lust List series it only seems right to start with the Bali villa dream and so I’ve rounded up a few of my favourite jaw-droppingly beautiful balinese rentals to hopefully inspire you to relish in this dream of mine…

Villa Atap Putih – Kuta Utara

Kicking off the Lust List is my personal favourite Villa Atap Putih! The bright pops of colour, shabby chic woodwork and laidback vibe embody exactly what I desire from a villa break: relaxed but beautiful.

The details: 1 bedroom, 2 guests, pool, AC, wifi (& many more useful amenities)

3BR Nusa Dua Villa – South Kuta

Next up is a villa whose interiors (and exteriors to be honest) give 5* hotel chains a run for their money. This 3 bedroom luxury villa was certainly crafted with design in mind – check out the rooftop gazebo for further evidence – and with a pool, jacuzzi and rooftop terrace it begs the question, what more could you want?

The details: 3 bedroom, 6 guests, pool, jacuzzi, AC, wifi (& many more useful amenities)

Ladera Villa – Ubud

Call me old fashioned, but I value word of mouth recommendations enormously. That’s why when a good friend of mine told me about Ladera Villa I knew I had to look into it. The location is raved about on TripAdvisor and the grounds look like the perfect oasis to switch off in after exploring Ubud.

The details: 1 bedroom, 2 guests, pool, AC, wifi (& many more useful amenities) – there are multiple units on the property which would also make Ladera Villa a good option for group bookings.

Villa Laks 2 – Kuta

The final Bali villa feature is not only effortlessly beautiful but also somehow seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living. The high ceilings, light filled rooms and indoor/outdoor swimming pool create the perfect laidback luxe environment for a relaxed Bali villa break. Oh and the bedrooms really take the meaning of ‘poolside’ to new heights…

The details: 2 bedroom, 4 guests, pool, AC (& many more useful amenities)

I could honestly go on all day drooling over Bali villas but that wraps up a few of my favourites – who knows maybe one day I’ll get out to Bali to do a full review of the properties…

A few more properties worthy of the Lust List include:
Legong Villa 1/2, Ubud For private pools set in amongst Balinese forest: Villa 1 on airbnb and Villa 2 on airbnb.
Villa Fellini, Kuta For stunning, contemporary interiors and a gorgeous garden/pool area: airbnb.
Villa Bije, Ubud For small but perfectly formed Ubud centre accommodation: airbnb.

Keep your eyes peeled for more of my Lust List destinations… Let me know your must visit recommendations in the comments and if you’ve visited any of the villas/got any that you think I have to see leave a comment!
