So who has been the worst blogger in the world lately?… me! Life has been pretty busy lately so I’ve barely had time to do anything blog worthy – let alone have time to write about it. But I’m back and have a backlog of day trips and fun things to write about. Without further ado here’s the low down on my lovely afternoon tea at sketch London.
The interiors at sketch are to die for, if you haven’t been before (for drinks, dinner, afternoon tea) I would recommend a visit even just to soak up the artwork. Afternoon tea takes place in The Gallery, a stunning pink parlour with amazing furnishes and walls filled with art. My photos don’t do it justice so definitely check out the professional photos here or visit for afternoon tea to see for yourself.
Everything about the sketch experience is flawless. Staff are on hand to attend to your every need, the food is delicious (and plentiful) and the atmosphere is like something out of a 1960’s Bond film. If I could live here I soooo would. My food highlights were the smoked salmon sandwiches, scones and macaroons. Although I would eat it all again if I could!
I’ve not even mentioned the bathrooms. SciFi egg pods disguise the toilet cubicles. The ceiling is like a technicolour dancefloor (Lionel Richie dancing on the ceiling vibes). Oh and the cleaners waltz around in french maid outfits. On the subject of outfits, the hostesses wore the most amazing watercolour dresses. The waiters and waitresses wore industrial looking jumpsuits and dresses – it’s almost the hunger games esque.
From the moment you walk through the door at sketch it really is like walking into a fairytale. All in all I would thoroughly recommend a visit, particularly for the afternoon tea – yum.
