Seen as I’m currently backpacking my way around SEA I’ll pretty much exclusively be staying in hostels/backpacker resorts/guest houses. Personally I love to have a read of reviews before booking and I’ll even book a hostel purely from a friend or blogger recommendation.
So while I’m hopping from hostel to hostel I decided to give back to the big bad internet world of hostel reviews and recommendations. Keep an eye on my Hostel Hopper series for my honest, down to earth reviews of cheap and cheerful places to rest your head. First up: 3Howw Hostel Bangkok…
This is the first time I’ve hosteled (definitely a word) in Bangkok, the last time I visited I was in the Millennium Hilton so this could’ve been a very rude awakening. Fortunately for me 3Howw was very liveable. We enjoyed just 1 night here but if we’d have needed to stay longer I would’ve been happy to. Free breakfast and free wifi are included in the room rate (starting at around 300 Thai baht).
We opted for the 8 bed mixed dorm which had comfortable (enough) beds, lockers and air conditioning. A clean sheet was provided and the hostel also offers essential items to rent (towels).
Far enough from Khao San road that you can get a good nights sleep
Check out is at 12 but guests are allowed to use common areas, showers and leave bags – so you can still enjoy your last day
Toiletries provided – soap, shower gel and cotton buds in all bathrooms
Not the cheapest, so if you are on a very tight budget this may not be suitable
You’re in Bangkok so the building goes up, lugging a heavy backpack/case to the 4th floor isn’t easy (at least you’re getting your cardio in)
10 minute walk to Khao San road so if you really want to go wild you may want to be closer for the drunk walk home
