Hostel Hopper: Baleku Senggigi Beach

Baleku swimming pook

Ben and I spent our 3 night stay on Lombok at Baleku, Senggigi. We booked in advance as it ticks all the boxes for us: breakfast, wifi, pool and town/beach accessible.

Booked into a double room with fan (pretty much the only option at Baleku I think, or you can add ac but $$$) we stayed on the right hand side of the courtyard and were happy with our room. Not too hot even with just a fan, clean and comfortable beds. There’s plenty of space in the common areas to chill if you don’t feel like venturing out and the atmosphere is always relaxed.

Pros
Yummy breakfast – I had banana pancakes everyday oops!
The staff at Baleku are super friendly, they really do make this place
Swimming pool. Not totally essential because the beach isn’t far but it’s nice to have options

Cons
Staying towards the front of the courtyard means it can be a little noisy with traffic on the main road. Nothing that kept me up at night though!
Cold showers, pretty standard in this neck of the woods though
The rooms at the back of the courtyard are a little drab. Although super cute with their outdoor bathroom and four poster mosquito net beds these huts are a little lacking on cleanliness. I think because of the thatched roof there are a few bugs, lizards and mosquitos that find their way in
